Responding to questions

Note that I am the only person typing or copy and pasting these messages at this time. If I spend time doing messages on other sites I will get behind on adding more studies in multiple versions, formats of sharing the gospel, and languages.

If the first version that you try to read is difficult to understand check for another version of the same study on this site that might be easier to read. If you want more information about the study that has a question in the title read the verses around the Question and Answer in the Bible. The same goes for all the formats of sharing the gospel messages on this site.

Isaiah 55:11 GNT So also will be the word that I speak—it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 GNT All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living,

so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.

2 Peter 1:19-21 GNT So we are even more confident of the message proclaimed by the prophets. You will do well to pay attention to it, because it is like a lamp shining in a dark place until the Day dawns and the light of the morning star shines in your hearts.

Above all else, however, remember that none of us can explain by ourselves a prophecy in the Scriptures.

For no prophetic message ever came just from the human will, but people were under the control of the Holy Spirit as they spoke the message that came from God.

How to hear and understand the Gospel

The Lord Answers Job

Job 38:1-3 GNT Then out of the storm the Lord spoke to Job.

The Lord
Who are you to question my wisdom with your ignorant, empty words?
Now stand up straight and answer the questions I ask you.

Job 40:6-7 GNT Then out of the storm the Lord spoke to Job once again.

The Lord
Now stand up straight and answer my questions.

Job 42:4-7 GNT You told me to listen while you spoke and to try to answer your questions.

In the past I knew only what others had told me, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
So I am ashamed of all I have said and repent in dust and ashes.
Conclusion
After the Lord had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you did not speak the truth about me, the way my servant Job did.

Romans 10:14-17 GNT But how can they call to him for help if they have not believed? And how can they believe if they have not heard the message? And how can they hear if the message is not proclaimed?

And how can the message be proclaimed if the messengers are not sent out? As the scripture says, “How wonderful is the coming of messengers who bring good news!”

But not all have accepted the Good News. Isaiah himself said, “Lord, who believed our message?”

So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ.

Acts 26:17-18 GNT I will rescue you from the people of Israel and from the Gentiles to whom I will send you.

You are to open their eyes and turn them from the darkness to the light and from the power of Satan to God, so that through their faith in me they will have their sins forgiven and receive their place among God’s chosen people.’

Romans 15:4-7 GNT Everything written in the Scriptures was written to teach us, in order that we might have hope through the patience and encouragement which the Scriptures give us.

And may God, the source of patience and encouragement, enable you to have the same point of view among yourselves by following the example of Christ Jesus,

so that all of you together may praise with one voice the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Gospel to the Gentiles
Accept one another, then, for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.

Here is Today’s Message

Job 4:12-21 Once a message came quietly, so quietly I could hardly hear it.

Like a nightmare it disturbed my sleep.

I trembled and shuddered; my whole body shook with fear,

A light breeze touched my face, and my skin crawled with fright.

I could see something standing there; I stared, but couldn’t tell what it was. Then I heard a voice out of the silence:

Can anyone be righteous in the sight of God or be pure before his Creator?

God does not trust his heavenly servants; he finds fault even with his angels.

Do you think he will trust a creature of clay, a thing of dust that can be crushed like a moth?

We may be alive in the morning, but die unnoticed before evening comes.

All that we have taken is taken away; we die, still lacking wisdom.

Job 33:12-18 But I tell you, Job, your are strong. God is greater than any human being.

Why do you accuse God of never answering our complaints?

Although God speaks again and again, no one plays attention to what he says.

At night when people are asleep, God speaks in dreams and visions.

He makes them listen to what he says, and they are frightened at his warnings.

God speaks to make them stop their sinning and to save them from becoming proud.

He will not let them be destroyed; he saves them from death itself.

Habakkuk 3:16-19 I hear all this, and I tremble; my lips quiver with fear. My body goes limp, and my feet stumble beneath me.

I will quietly wait for the time to come when God will punish those who attack us.

Even though the fig trees have no fruit and no grapes grow on the vines, even though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no grain, even though the sheep all die and the cattle stalls are empty.

I will still be joyful and glad, because the Lord God is my savior.

The Sovereign Lord gives me strength. He makes me sure-footed as a deer and keeps me safe on the mountains.

Human Disobedience

Genesis 3:1-19 Now the snake was the most cunning animal that the Lord God had made. The snake asked the woman, “Did God really tell you not to eat fruit from any tree in the garden?”

“We may eat the fruit of any tree in the garden,” the woman answered,

“except the tree in the middle of it. God told us not to eat the fruit of that tree or even touch it; if we do, we will die.”

The snake replied, “That’s not true; you will not die.

God said that because he know that when you eat it, you will become like God and know what is good and what is bad.”

The woman saw how beautiful the tree was and how good is fruits would be to eat, and she thought how wonderful it would be to become wise. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, and he also ate it.

As soon as they had eaten it, they were given understanding and realized that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and covered themselves.

That evening they heard the Lord God walking in the garden, and they hid from him among the trees.

But the Lord God called out to the man, ” Where are you?”

He answered ” I heard you in the garden; I was afraid and hid from you, because I was naked.”

“Who told you that you were naked?” God asked. “Did you eat the fruit that I told you not to eat?”

The man answered, ” The woman you put here with me gave me the fruit, and I ate it.”

The Lord God asked the woman, “Why did you do this?” She replied, “The snake tricked me into eating it.”

God Pronounces Judgment

Then the Lord God said to the snake, ” You will be punished for this; you alone of all the animals must bear this curse; From now on you will crawl on your belly, and you will have to eat dust as long as you live.

I will make you and the women hate each other; her offspring and yours will always be enemies. Her off springs will crush your head, and you will bite her offspring’s heel.”

And he said to the woman, ” I will increase your trouble in pregnancy and you pain in giving birth. In spite of this, you will still have desire for your husband, yet you will be to subject to him.”

And he said to the man, ” You listened to your wife and ate the fruit which I told you not to eat. Because of what you have done, the ground will be under a curse. You will have to work hard all your life to make it produce enough food for you.

It will produce weeds and thorns, and you will have to eat wild plants.

You will have to work hard and sweat to make the soil produce anything, until you go back to the soil from which you were formed. You were made from soil, and you will become soil again.”

Job 15:7-16 Do you think you were the first person born? Were you there when God made the mountains?

Did you overhear the plans God made? Does human wisdom belong to you alone?

There is nothing you know that we don’t know.

We learned our wisdom from gray-haired people–those born before you father.

God offers you comfort; why still reject it? We have spoken for him with calm, even words.

But you are excited and glare at us in anger.

You are angry with God and denounce him.

Can any human being be really pure? Can anyone be right with God?

Why, God does not trust even his angels; even they are not pure in his sight.

And we drink evil as if it were water; yes, we are corrupt; we are worthless.

2 Peter 2:4-11 God did not spare the angels who sinned, but threw them into hell, where they are kept chained in darkness, waiting for the Day of Judgment.

God did not spare the ancient world, but brought the flood on the world of godless people; the only ones he saved were Noah, who preached righteousness, and seven other people.

God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, destroying them with fire, and made them an example of what will happen to the godless.

He Rescued Lot, a good man, who was distressed by the immoral conduct of the lawless people.

That good man lived among them, and day after day he suffered agony as he saw and heard their evil actions.

And so the Lord knows knows to rescue godly people from their trials and how to keep the wicked under punishment for the Day of Judgement,

especially those who follow their filthy bodily lusts and despise God’s authority. These false teachers are bold and arrogant, and show no respect for the glorious beings above; instead, they them.

Even the angels, who are so much stronger and mightier than these false teachers, do not accuse them with insults in the presence of the Lord.

Of God and Human Beings

Psalm 90:1-6 O Lord, you have always been our home.

Before you created the hills or brought the world into being you were eternally God, and will be God forever.

You tell us to return to what we were; you change us back to dust.

A thousand years to you are like one day; they are like yesterday, already gone, like a short hour in the night.

You carry us away like a flood; we last no longer than a dream. We are like weeds that sprout in the morning,

that grow and burst into bloom, then dry up and die in the evening.
