Responding to questions

Note that I am the only person typing or copy and pasting these messages at this time. If I spend time doing messages on other sites I will get behind on adding more studies in multiple versions, formats of sharing the gospel, and languages.

If the first version that you try to read is difficult to understand check for another version of the same study on this site that might be easier to read. If you want more information about the study that has a question in the title read the verses around the Question and Answer in the Bible. The same goes for all the formats of sharing the gospel messages on this site.

Isaiah 55:11 CR NIV so is my word that goes out from my mouth; It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Final Greetings

2 Timothy 3:16-17 CR NIV All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Peter 1:19-21 CR NIV We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shinning in a dark place, until the day dawns and the mourning star rises in your hearts.

Above all, you must understand that no prophesy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.

For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

How to hear and understand the Gospel

The LORD Speaks

 Job 38:1-3 CR NIV Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm, He said;

“Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?

Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me,

 Job 40:6-7 CR NIV Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm;

“Brace yourself like a man, I will question you, and you shall answer me.

Job 42:4-7 CR NIV “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.’

My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.

Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”

Epilogue

After the LORD had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.

Romans 10:14-17 CR NIV How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”

Consequently faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Acts 26:17-18 CR NIV I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them

to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Romans 15:4-7 CR NIV For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,

so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Here is Today’s Message

A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time for tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:16-17 And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment–wickedness was there, in the place of justice–wickedness was there.

I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.”

Ecclesiastes 2:26 To the person who pleased him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind,

Ecclesiastes 8:6 For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery.

Genesis 37:29-33 When Reuben returned to the cistern and saw that Joseph was not there, he tore his clothes,

He went back to his brothers and said, “The boy isn’t there! Where can I turn now!”

Then they got Joseph’s robe, slaughtered a goat and dipped the robe in the blood.

They took the ornate robe back to their father and said, “We found this, Examine it to see whether it is your son’s robe.”

He recognized it and said, “It is my son’s robe! Some ferocious animal has devoured him. Joseph has surely been torn to pieces.”

Exodus 15:20-21 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister took the timbrel in her hand,  and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.

Miriam sang to them: ” Sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.”

Exodus 20:12-17 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may life long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

“You shall not murder.

“You shall not commit adultery.

“You shall not steal.

“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

2 Samuel 3:31-32 Then David said to Joab and all the people with him, “Tear your clothes and put on sackcloth and walk in mourning in front of Abner.” Kind David himself walked behind the bier.

They buried Abner in Hebron, and the king wept aloud at Abner’s tomb. all the people wept also.

David and Bathsheba

2 Samuel 11:1 In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.

2 Kings 3:25  They destroyed the towns, and each man threw a stone on every good field until it was covered. They stopped up all the springs and cut down every good tree. Only Kir Hareseth was left with its stone in place, but men armed with slings surrounded it and attacked it.

2 Kings 7:15 They followed them as far as the Jordan, and they found the whole road strewn with the clothing and equipment the Arameans had thrown away in the headlong flight. So the messengers returned and reported to the king.

Lamentations 3:37-39 Who can speak and have it happen if the Lord has not decreed it?

Is it not form the mouth of the Most High that both calamities and good things come?

Why should the living complain when punished for their sins?

Job 14:5 A person’s days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.

Proverbs 15:23 A person finds joy in giving an apt reply–and how good is a timely word!

Proverbs 25:11-12 Like apples of gold in setting of silver is a ruling rightly given.

Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold, is the rebuke of a wise judge to a listening ear.

Isaiah 2:20-21 In that day people will throw away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and idols of gold, which they made to worship.

They will flee to caverns in the rocks and to the overhanging crags from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty when he rises to shake the earth.

Jonah 1:5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship. But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep,

Amos 5:12-17 For I know how many are your offenses and how great your sins. There are those who oppress the innocent and take bribes and deprive the poor of justice in courts.

Therefore the prudent keep quiet in such times for the times are evil.

Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is.

Hate evil, love good, maintain justice in courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph,

Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord God Almighty, says: “There will be wailing in all the streets and cries of anguish in every public square. The farmers will be summoned to weep and the mourners to wail. There will be wailing in all the vineyards, for I will pass through your midst” says the Lord.

Israel Unrepentant

Hosea 6:1 “Come, let us return to the LORD, He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.

Joel 2:15-17 Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly.

Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast, Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber.

Let the priests, who minister before the LORD, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say, “Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?'”

The Beatitudes

Matthew 5:3-12 He said: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 10:34-36 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

For I have come to turn “a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter -in-law against her mother-in-law–

a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household’.

Matthew 19:28-30 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Any everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.

But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

Luke 14:26-27 ” If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters–yes, even their own life–such a person cannot be my disciple.

And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Romans 12:14-21 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay.” says the Lord.

On the contrary; “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

1 Corinthians 7:5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Good Order in Worship

1 Corinthians 14:26-32 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or word of instruction, a revelation , a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.

If anyone speaks in a tongue, two–or at the most three– should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret.

If there is not interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.

Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.

And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop.

For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.

The spirits of prophets are subject to control of the prophets.

Galatians 4:4-5 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,

to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

Ephesians 1:11-14 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,

in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,

who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession — to the praise of his glory.

Philippians 3:7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.

Hebrews 9:27-28 Just as people are destine to die once, and after that to face judgement,

so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of  many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Casts all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
