Responding to questions

Note that I am the only person typing or copy and pasting these messages at this time. If I spend time doing messages on other sites I will get behind on adding more studies in multiple versions, formats of sharing the gospel, and languages.

If the first version that you try to read is difficult to understand check for another version of the same study on this site that might be easier to read. If you want more information about the study that has a question in the title read the verses around the Question and Answer in the Bible. The same goes for all the formats of sharing the gospel messages on this site.

Isaiah 55:11 Quest NIV so is my word that goes out from my mouth; It will not return to me empty; but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 Quest NIV All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Peter 1:19-21 Quest NIV We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.

For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

How to hear and understand the Gospel

The LORD Speaks

 Job 38:1-3 Quest NIV Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm. He said;

“Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?

Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and your shall answer me.

 Job 40:6-7 Quest NIV Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm;

“Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.

Job 42:4-7 Quest NIV “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak; I will question, and you shall answer me.’

My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.

Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”

Epilogue

After the LORD had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.

Romans 10:14-17 Quest NIV How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written; “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Acts 26:17-18 Quest NIV I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them

to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’

Romans 15:4-7 Quest NIV For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,

so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Here is Today’s Message

John 3:13-21 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven –the Son of Man.

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up.

that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him,”

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Ephesians 4:7-10 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

This is why is says: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.”

(What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?

He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

John 3:31-36 The one who comes is from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes for heaven is above all.

He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.

Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful.

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

The father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands,

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

John 6:47 Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.

God’s Love and Ours

1 John 4:7-11 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and know God.

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the World that we might live through him.

This is love: not that we loved God, but he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another,

Samaritan Opposition

Luke 9:51-56 As the time approached for him to be taken up to the heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.

And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him;

but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem.

When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked,” Lord do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them”?

But Jesus turned and rebuked them.

Then he and his disciples went to another village.

John 5:24-25 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life,

Very truly I tell you a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

1 John 5:6-13 This is the one who came by water and blood–Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.

Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this  testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.

And this is the testimony; God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Concluding Affirmations

I write this things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

The Word Became Flesh

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 1:9-11 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.

He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

John 8:43-47 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say.

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires, He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!

Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me?

Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason your do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

Ephesian 5:8-13 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord, Live as children of light.

(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)

and find out what pleases the Lord.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.

But everything exposed by the light becomes visible– and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. ”

1 Corinthians 15:9-11 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called and apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.
