Matthew 3:13-17 Red Words Message NKJV

Matthew 3:13-17 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.

And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”

But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.

When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.

And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Isaiah 11:1-5 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.

The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His ways, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;

But with righteousness he shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist.

Matthew 17:1-9 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;

and he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.

And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with him.

The Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles; one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, Hear him!”

and when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid,

But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.”

When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.

Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.”

John 12:27-36 “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour,

“Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again,”

Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel had spoken to Him.”

Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake.

“Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to myself.”

This He said, signifying by what death he would die.

The people answered him, “We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up?  Who is this Son of Man?”

Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

“While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.
