Responding to questions

I would suggest before reading this Bible message that you would please read the About the Blog tab. The purpose of this site is to take questions in the Bible and only use Scripture to answer the question.

Note that I am the only person typing or copy and pasting these messages. If I spend time doing messages on other  sites I will get behind on adding more studies in multiple versions.

If the first version that you try to read is difficult to understand check for another version that might be easier to read. If you want more information about the study read the verses around the Question and Answer in the Bible.

The only technical information I have is being obedient to what God puts on my heart to do. God gave me the help that I needed all along the way. He will help me when there are any issues of compatibility for you to read the stories. I also have a person I contact with any changes that need to be made.

Isaiah 55:11 TLB so also is my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to and prosper everywhere I send it.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 TLB The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right.

It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone.

2 Peter 1:19-21 TLB So we have seen and proved that what the prophets said came true. You will do well to pay close attention to everything they have written, for, like lights shining into dark corners, their words help us to understand many things that otherwise would be dark and difficult. But when you consider the wonderful truth of the prophets’ words, then the light will dawn in your souls and Christ the Morning Star will shine in your hearts.

For no prophecy recorded in Scripture was ever thought up by the prophet himself.

It was the Holy Spirit within these godly men who gave them true messages from God.

How to hear and understand the Gospel

Job 38:1-3 TLB Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind:

“Why are you using your ignorance to deny my providence?

Now get ready to fight, for I am going to demand some answers from you, and you must reply.

Job 40:6-7 TLB Then the Lord spoke to Job again from the whirlwind:

“Stand up like a man and brace yourself for battle. Let me ask you a question, and give me the answer.

Job 42:4-7 TLB “You said, ‘Listen and I will speak! Let me put the questions to you! See if you can answer them!’

“But now I say, ‘I had heard about you before, but now I have seen you,

and I loathe myself and repent in dust and ashes.’”

After the Lord had finished speaking with Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “I am angry with you and with your two friends, for you have not been right in what you have said about me, as my servant Job was.

Romans 10:14-17  TLB But how shall they ask him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

And how will anyone go and tell them unless someone sends him? That is what the Scriptures are talking about when they say, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace with God and bring glad tidings of good things.” In other words, how welcome are those who come preaching God’s Good News!

But not everyone who hears the Good News has welcomed it, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed me when I told them?”

Yet faith comes from listening to this Good News—the Good News about Christ.

Acts 26:17-18 TLB And I will protect you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am going to send you to the Gentiles

to open their eyes to their true condition so that they may repent and live in the light of God instead of in Satan’s darkness, so that they may receive forgiveness for their sins and God’s inheritance along with all people everywhere whose sins are cleansed away, who are set apart by faith in me.’

Romans 15:4-7 TLB These things that were written in the Scriptures so long ago are to teach us patience and to encourage us so that we will look forward expectantly to the time when God will conquer sin and death.

May God who gives patience, steadiness, and encouragement help you to live in complete harmony with each other—each with the attitude of Christ toward the other.

And then all of us can praise the Lord together with one voice, giving glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So warmly welcome each other into the church, just as Christ has warmly welcomed you; then God will be glorified.

Here is Today’s Message

Romans 15:14-21 I know that you are wise and good, my brothers, and that you know these things so well that you are able to teach others all about them.

But even so I have been bold enough to emphasize some of these points, knowing that all you need is this reminder from me; for I am, by God’s grace, a special messenger from Jesus Christ to you Gentiles,

bringing you the Gospel and offering you up as a fragrant sacrifice to God; for you have been made pure and pleasing to him by the Holy Spirit

So it is right for me to be a little proud of all Christ Jesus has done through me

I dare not judge how effectively he has used others, but I know this: he has used me to win the Gentiles to God

I have won them by my message and by the good way I have lived before them and by the miracles done through me as signs from Godall by the Holy Spirit’s power. In this way I have preached the full Gospel of Christ all the way from Jerusalem clear over into Illyricum.

But all the while my ambition has been to go still farther, preaching where the name of Christ has never yet been heard, rather than where a church has already been started by someone else

I have been following the plan spoken of in the Scriptures where Isaiah says that those who have never heard the name of Christ before will see and understand

Ephesians 1:15-19 That is why, ever since I heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and of the love you have for Christians everywhere

I have never stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

to give you wisdom to see clearly and really understand who Christ is and all that he has done for you

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future he has called you to share. I want you to realize that God has been made rich because we who are Christ’s have been given to him

I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great his power is to help those who believe him. It is that same mighty power

Romans 11:13-14 As you know, God has appointed me as a special messenger to you Gentiles. I lay great stress on this and remind the Jews about it as often as I can

so that if possible I can make them want what you Gentiles have and in that way save some of them.

1 Corinthians 1:26-31 Notice among yourselves, dear brothers, that few of you who follow Christ have big names or power or wealth

Instead, God has deliberately chosen to use ideas the world considers foolish and of little worth in order to shame those people considered by the world as wise and great

He has chosen a plan despised by the world, counted as nothing at all, and used it to bring down to nothing those the world considers great

so that no one anywhere can ever brag in the presence of God.

For it is from God alone that you have your life through Christ Jesus. He showed us God’s plan of salvation; he was the one who made us acceptable to God; he made us pure and holy and gave himself to purchase our salvation.*

As it says in the Scriptures, “If anyone is going to boast, let him boast only of what the Lord has done.”

Acts 15:12 There was no further discussion, and everyone now listened as Barnabas and Paul told about the miracles God had done through them among the Gentiles.

Acts 21:18-21 The second day Paul took us with him to meet with James and the elders of the Jerusalem church

After greetings were exchanged, Paul recounted the many things God had accomplished among the Gentiles through his work.

They praised God but then said, “You know, dear brother, how many thousands of Jews have also believed, and they are all very insistent that Jewish believers must continue to follow the Jewish traditions and customs.

Our Jewish Christians here at Jerusalem have been told that you are against the laws of Moses, against our Jewish customs, and that you forbid the circumcision of their children

Acts 2:18-21 Yes, the Holy Spirit shall come upon all my servants, men and women alike, and they shall prophesy

And I will cause strange demonstrations in the heavens and on the earthblood and fire and clouds of smoke

the sun shall turn black and the moon blood-red before that awesome Day of the Lord arrives

But anyone who asks for mercy from the Lord shall have it and shall be saved.’

Isaiah 52:13-15 See, my Servant shall prosper; he shall be highly exalted

Yet many shall be amazed when they see him—yes, even far-off foreign nations and their kings; they shall stand dumbfounded, speechless in his presence. For they shall see and understand what they had not been told before.

They shall see my Servant beaten and bloodied, so disfigured one would scarcely know it was a person standing there. So shall he cleanse many nations.
