Responding to questions

Note that I am the only person typing or copy and pasting these messages at this time. If I spend time doing messages on other sites I will get behind on adding more studies in multiple versions, formats of sharing the gospel, and languages.

If the first version that you try to read is difficult to understand check for another version of the same study on this site that might be easier to read. If you want more information about the study that has a question in the title read the verses around the Question and Answer in the Bible. The same goes for all the formats of sharing the gospel messages on this site.

Isaiah 55:11 NET In the same way, the promise that I make does not return to me, having accomplished nothing. No, it is realized as I desire and is fulfilled as I intend.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NET Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.

2 Peter 1:19-21 NET Moreover, we possess the prophetic word as an altogether reliable thing. You do well if you pay attention to this as you would to a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Above all, you do well if you recognize this: No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own imagination,

for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse; rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

How to hear and understand the Gospel

The Lord’s First Speech

Job 38:1-3 NET Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind:

Who is this who darkens counsel with words without knowledge?
Get ready for a difficult task like a man; I will question you and you will inform me!
The Lord’s Second Speech

Job 40:6-7 NET Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind:

“Get ready for a difficult task like a man. I will question you and you will inform me!

Job 42:4-7 NET You said, Pay attention, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.’

I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye has seen you.
Therefore I despise myself, and I repent in dust and ashes!
The Epilogue
After the Lord had spoken these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My anger is stirred up against you and your two friends, because you have not spoken about me what is right, as my servant Job has.

Romans 10:14-17 NET How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of? And how are they to hear without someone preaching to them

And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How timely is the arrival of those who proclaim the good news.”

But not all have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says, “Lordwho has believed our report?”

Consequently faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ.

Acts 26:17-18 NET I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you

to open their eyes so that they turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Romans 15:4-7 NET For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope

Now may the God of endurance and comfort give you unity with one another in accordance with Christ Jesus,

so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Exhortation to Mutual Acceptance
Receive one another, then, just as Christ also received you, to God’s glory

Here is Today’s Message

Paul’s Motivation for Writing the Letter

Romans 15:14-21 But I myself am fully convinced about you, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able to instruct one another.

But I have written more boldly to you on some points so as to remind you, because of the grace given to me by God

to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. I serve the gospel of God like a priest, so that the Gentiles may become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

So I boast in Christ Jesus about the things that pertain to God
For I will not dare to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in order to bring about the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed
In the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem even as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ
And in this way I desire to preach where Christ has not been named, so as not to build on another person’s foundation
but as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will seeand those who have not heard will understand.”
Prayer for Wisdom and Revelation

Ephesians 1:15-19 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,

I do not cease to give thanks for you when I remember you in my prayers.

I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, will give you spiritual wisdom and revelation in your growing knowledge of him,

– since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened – so that you can know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

and what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe, as displayed in the exercise of his immense strength.

Romans 11:13-14 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Seeing that I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry

if somehow I could provoke my people to jealousy and save some of them

1 Corinthians 1:26-31 Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers and sisters. Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position.

But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong

God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something

so that no one can boast in his presence

He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption

so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boastsboast in the Lord.”

Acts 15:12 The whole group kept quiet and listened to Barnabas and Paul while they explained all the miraculous signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them.

Acts 21:18-21 The next day Paul went in with us to see James, and all the elders were there.

When Paul had greeted them, he began to explain in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are who have believed, and they are all ardent observers of the law,

They have been informed about you–that you teach all the Jews now living among the Gentiles to abandon Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.

Acts 2:18-21 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

And I will perform wonders in the sky above and miraculous signs on the earth belowblood and fire and clouds of smoke.
The sun will be changed to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
And then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
The Lord Will Vindicate His Servant

Isaiah 52:13-15  Look, my servant will succeed! He will be elevated, lifted high, and greatly exalted –

(just as many were horrified by the sight of you) he was so disfigured he no longer looked like a man;
his form was so marred he no longer looked human –
so now he will startle many nations. Kings will be shocked by his exaltation, for they will witness something unannounced to them, and they will understand something they had not heard about.
