Psalm 27:1-6 Comparing NIV Family Reading Zondervan, NET Thinline Nelson, NASB Thinline Zondervan 1995, ESV Crossway 2016

Psalm 27:1-6 NIV Family Reading Zondervan The LORD is my light and my salvation–whom shall fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life–of whom shall be afraid?

When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war breakout against me, even then will be confident.

One thing ask of the LORD, this is what seek: that may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his tabernacle will sacrifice with shouts of joy; will sing and make music to the LORD.

Psalm 27:1-6 NET Thinline Nelson The LORD is my light and my salvation. I fear no one. The LORD protects my life. am afraid of no one.

When evil men attack me to devour my flesh, when my adversaries and enemies attack me, they stumble and fall.

Even when an army is deployed against me, do not fear. Even when war is imminent, I remain confident.

have asked the LORD for one thing–this is what desire! want to live in the LORD’S house all the days of my life, so can gaze at the splendor of the LORD and contemplate in his temple.

He will surely give me shelter in the day of danger; he will hide me in his home. He will place me on an inaccessible rocky summit.

Now will triumph over my enemies who surround me. will offer sacrifices in his dwelling place and shout for joy. will sing praises to the LORD.

Psalm 27:1-6 NASB Thinline Zondervan 1995 The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall fear? The LORD is the defense of my life; Whom shall dread?

When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.

Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this shall be confident.

One thing have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek; That  may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple.

For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.

And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; will sing, yes, will sing praises to the LORD.

The LORD is My Light and My Salvation

Psalm 27:1-6 ESV Crossway 2016 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall be afraid?

When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.

Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet will be confident.

One thing have asked of the LORD, that will seek after; that may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.

For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.

And know my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD.
