Prophecy Against the Pastors

Ezekiel 34:1-6 KJV Dake AND the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Son of man, prophecy against the shepherds of Is’ra-el, prophecy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Is’ra-el that do feed themselves; should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed; but ye feed not the flock.

The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd; and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill; yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

Message to the Faithless Shepherds of Israel

Ezekiel 34:1-6 KJV Simplified And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

“Son of man, prophecy against the shepherds of Israel; prophecy, and say to them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says to the shepherds: “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

You eat the fat, and you clothe yourselves with the wool; you kill those who are fed, but you do not feed the flock.

You have not strengthened the diseased, nor have you healed what was sick, nor have you bound up what was broken, nor have you brought back what was driven away, nor have you sought what was lost–but with force and cruelty you have ruled them.

And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd. And when they were scattered, they became food for all the beasts of the field.

My flock was scattered on all the face of the earth, and no one searched or sought after them.”‘”

Evil Pastors are Reproved;

Ezekiel 34:1-6 Douay-Rheims AND the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Son of man, prophecy concerning the shepherds of Israel: prophecy, and say to the shepherds; Thus saith the Lord God; Woe to the shepherds of Israel, that fed themselves; should not the flocks be fed by the shepherds?

You ate the milk, and you clothed yourselves with the wool, and you killed that which was fat; but my flock you did not feed.

The weak you have not strengthened, and that which was sick you have not healed, that which was broken you have not bound up, and that which was driven away you have not brought again, neither have you sought that which was lost: but you ruled over them with rigour, and with a high hand.

And my sheep were scattered, because there was no shepherd: and they became the prey of all the beasts of the field, and were scattered.

My sheep have wandered in every mountain, and every high hill: and my flocks were scattered upon the face of the earth, and there was none that sought them, there was none, say, that sought them.

Ezekiel 34:1-6 ANL Moffatt (old) This word from the Eternal also came to me,

“Son of man, prophecy against the rulers of Israel, prophesy thus to these shepherds: ‘Here is what the Lord the Eternal says; Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have fed none but themselves! Ought not shepherds to feed their flock?

You have seized the milk, you have clothed yourselves with the wool. you have killed the fatlings, but you have not fed the flock.

You never put strength into the weak, you never healed the sickly, you never bandaged the cripples, you never recovered those who had been driven away, you never looked for those who were lost, and you were rough to those who were strong.

So my flock has been scattered because they had no shepherd, and it has been devoured by all the wild beasts.

My flock strayed over all the uplands and over every high hill, scattered all over the face of the earth, with none to search for them, none to look for them.’

The Leaders Are Like Shepherds

Ezekiel 34:1-6 NCV Bibleman The Lord spoke his word to me. He said:

“Human being, prophesy against the leaders of Israel, who are like shepherds. Prophesy and say to them: “This is what the Lord God says; How terrible it will be for the shepherds of Israel who feed only themselves! Why don’t the shepherds feed the flock?

You eat the milk curds from the sheep. You clothe yourselves with the wool from the sheep. You kill the fat sheep. But you do not feed the flock.

You have not healed the sick. You have not put bandages on those that were hurt. You have not brought back those who strayed away. Yu have not searched for the lost. You ruled the sheep with cruel force.

The sheep were scattered because there was no shepherd. Then they became food for every wild animal.

My flock wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over all the face of the earth. And no one searched or looked for them.

Ezekiel 34:1-6 TLB Tyndale Pocket THEN THIS MESSAGE came to me from the Lord:

“Son of dust, prophesy against the shepherds, the leaders of Israel, and say to them: The Lord God says to you: Woe to the shepherds who feed themselves instead of their flocks. Shouldn’t shepherds feed the sheep?

You eat the best food and wear the finest clothes, but you let your flocks starve.

You haven’t taken care of the weak nor tended the sick nor bound up the broken bones nor gone looking for those who have wandered away and are lost. Instead you have ruled them with force and cruelty.

So they were scattered, without a shepherd. They have become a prey to every animal that comes along.

My sheep wandered through the mountains and hills and over the face of the earth, and there was no one to search for them or care about them.

Prophesy Against the Shepherds of Israel

Ezekiel 34:1-6 ESV Lutheran SB The word of the LORD came to me:

“Son of man. prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord GOD; ‘Ah, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep?

You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep.

The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, the injured you have not bound up, the strayed you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought, and with force and harshness you have ruled them.

So they were scattered, because there was no shepherd, and they became food for all the wild beasts.

My sheep were scattered; they wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, with none to search or seek for them.

Prophecy Against the Shepherds of Israel

Ezekiel 34:1-6 LSB Then the word of Yahweh came to me saying,

“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say to those shepherds, “Thus says the Lord Yahweh, “Woe, shepherds of Israel who have been shepherding themselves! Should not the shepherds shepherd the flock?

“You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you sacrifice the fat sheep without shepherding the flock.

“Those who are sickly you have not strengthened, and the diseased you have not healed, and the broken you have not bound up, and the scattered you have not brought back, nor have you searched for the lost; but with strength and with severity you have dominated them.

“They were scattered for lack of a shepherd, and they became food for every beast of the field and were scattered.

“My flock wandered through all the mountains and on every high hill; My flock was scattered over all the surface of the earth, and there was no one to seek or search for them.”‘”

Ezekiel 34:1-6 New JPS Tanakh The word of the LORD came to me:

O mortal, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and say to them: To the shepherds: Thus said the Lord GOD! Ah, you shepherds of Israel, who have been tending yourselves! Is it not the flock that the shepherds ought to tend?

You partake of the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, and you slaughter the fatlings; but you do not tend the flock.

You have not sustained the weak, healed the sick, or bandaged the injured; you have not brought back the strayed, or looked for the lost; but you have driven them with harsh rigor,

and they have been scattered for want of anyone to tend them; scattered, they have become prey for every wild beast.

My sheep stray through all the mountains and over every lofty hill; My flock is scattered all over the face of the earth, with none to take thought of them and none to seek them.
