Opening Scripture bwfore the Message

Isaiah 55:11 The Way so also is my Word. I send it out and its always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to, and prosper everywhere I send it.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 The Way The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us to do what is right.

It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone.

2 Peter 1:19-21 The Way So we have seen and proved that what the prophets said came true. You will do well to pay attention to everything they have written, for, like lights shining into dark corners, their words help us to understand many things that otherwise would be dark and difficult. But when you consider the wonderful truth of the prophets’ words, then the light will dawn in your souls and Christ the Morning Star will shine in your hearts.

For no prophesy recorded in Scripture was ever thought up by the prophet himself.

It was the Holy Spirit within these godly men who gave them true messages from God.

How to hear and understand the Gospel

Job 38:1-3 The Way THEN THE LORD answered Job from the whirlwind;

“Why are you using your ignorance to deny my providence?

Now get ready to fight, for I am going to demand some answers from you, and you must reply.

 Job 40:6-7 The Way Then the Lord spoke to Job again from the whirlwind;

“Stand up like a man and brace yourself for battle. Let me ask you a question and give me the answer.

Job 42:4-7 The Way [You said,] ‘Listen and I will speak! Let me put the questions to you! See if you can answer them!’

“[But now I say,] ‘I had heard about you before, but now I have seen you,

and I loathe myself and repent in dust and ashes.'”

After the Lord had finished speaking with Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “I am angry with you and with your two friends, for you have not been right in what you have said about me, as my servant Job was.

Romans 10:14-17 The Way But how shall they ask him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

And how will anyone go and tell them unless someone sends him? That is what the Scriptures are talking about  when they say, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace with God and bring glad tidings of good things.”

In other words, how welcome are those who come preaching God’s Good News!

But not everyone who hears the Good News has welcomed it, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed me when I told them?”

Yet faith comes from listening to this Good News–the Good News about Christ.

Acts 26:17-18 The Way And I will protect you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am going to send  you to the Gentiles

to open their eyes to their true condition so that thy may repent and live in the light of God instead of Satan’s darkness, so that they may receive forgiveness for their sins and God’s inheritance along with all people everywhere  whose sins are cleansed away, who are set apart by faith in me.’

Romans 15:4-7 THE WAY These things that were written in the Scriptures so long ago are to teach us patience and to encourages us, so that we will look forward expectantly to the time when God will conquer sin and death.

May God who gives patience, steadiness, and encouragement help you to live in complete harmony with each other–each with the attitude of Christ toward the other.

And then all of us can praise the Lord together with one voice, giving glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, warmly welcome each other into the church, just as Christ has warmly welcomed you; then God will be glorified.

Here is Today’s message

Luke 24:46-49 And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah must suffer and die and rise again from the dead on the third day;

and that the message of salvation should be taken from Jerusalem to all the nations: There is forgiveness of sins for all who turn to me.

You have seen these prophesies come true.

“And now I will send the Holy Spirit upon you, just as my Father promised. Don’t begin telling others yet–stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”

Responding to questions

If the first version that you try to read is difficult to understand check for another version of the same study on this site that might be easier to read. If you want more information about the study that has a question in the title read the verses around the Question and Answer in the Bible.
