Ezra 1:1-11 1599 Geneva Patriot’s Edition

Opening Scriptures before the Message

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be, that goeth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I will, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 For the whole Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable to teach, to convince, to correct, and to instruct in righteousness,

That the man of God may be absolute, being made perfect unto all good works.

2 Peter 1:19-21 We have also a most sure word of the Prophets, to the which ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the day star arise in your hearts.

So that ye first know this, that no prophesy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation:

For the prophesy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the holy Ghost.

How to hear and understand the Gospel

Job 38:1-3 Then answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Who is this that darkeneth the counsel by words without knowledge?

Gird up now thy loins like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

Job 40:1-2 Again the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Gird up now thy loins like a man; I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

Job 42:4-7 Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak; I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee.

Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

Now after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord also said unto Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, like my servant Job.

Romans 10:14-17 But how shall they call on him, in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him, of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them which bring glad tidings of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

But they have not all obeyed the Gospel: for Isaiah saith, Lord, whom hath believed our report?

Then faith is by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Acts 26:17-18 Delivering thee from this people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

To open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them, which are sanctified by faith in me.

Romans 15:4-7 For whatsoever things are written aforetime, are written for our learning, that we through patience, and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

Now the God of patience and consolation give you that ye be like-minded one towards another, according to Christ Jesus.

That ye with one mind, and with one mouth may praise God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

Here is Today’s Message

Ezra 1:1-11 Now in the first tear of Cyrus King of Persia (that the word of the LORD, spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah, might be accomplished) the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus King of Persia, and he made a proclamation through all his kingdom, and also by writing, saying.

Thus saith Cyrus King of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he hath commanded me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

Who is he among you of all his people with whom his God is? let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel; he is the God, which is in Jerusalem.

And everyone that remaineth in any place (where he sojourneth) Let the men of his place relieve him with silver and with gold, and with substance, and with cattle, and with a willing offering, for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.

Then the chief fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites rose up, with all them whose spirit God had raised to go up, to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.

And all they that were about them, strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with substance and with cattle, and with precious things, besides all that was willingly offered,

Also the king Cyrus brought forth the vessels of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his god.

Even them did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and counted them unto Sheshbazzar the Prince of Judah.

And this is the number of them, thirty basins of gold, a thousand basins of silver, nine and twenty knives,

Thirty bowls of gold, and of silver bowls of second sort, four hundred and ten, and of other vessels, a thousand.

All the vessels of gold and silver were five thousand and four hundred. Sheshbazzar brought up all with them of the capacity that came up from Babel to Jerusalem.

Responding to questions

Note that I am the only person typing or copy and pasting these messages at this time. If I spend time doing messages on other sites I will get behind on adding more studies in multiple versions, formats of sharing the gospel, and languages.

If the first version that you try to read is difficult to understand check for another version of the same study on this site that might be easier to read. If you want more information about the study that has a question in the title read the verses around the Question and Answer in the Bible.
