    Jeremiah 2:7-9 I brought you into a bountiful country, To eat its fruit and its goodness. But when you entered, you defiled My land And made My heritage an abomination.

    The priests did not say, ‘Where is the LORD?’ And those who handle the law did not know Me; The rulers also transgressed against Me; The prophets prophesied by Baal, And walked after things that do not profit.

    “Therefore I will yet bring charges against you,” says the LORD, “And against your children’s children I will bring charges.

    Numbers 13:26-33 Now they departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.

    Then they told him, and said; “We went tot eh land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

    “Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.

    “The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittities, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along  the banks of the Jordan.”

    Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”

    But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.”

    And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we are have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the epole whom we saw in it are men of great stature.

    “There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

    Amos 2:9-12 “Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, Whose height was like the height of the cedars, And he was as strong as the oaks; Yet I destroyed his fruit above And his roots beneath.

    Also it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt< And led you forty years through the wilderness, To possess the land of the Amorite.

    I raised up some of your sons as prophets, And some of your young men as Nazirites, Is it no so, O you children of Israel?” Say the LORD.

    “But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink, And commanded the prophets saying, ‘Do no prophesy!’

    Isaiah 40:21-24 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?

    It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

    He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless.

    Scarcely shall they be planted, Scarcely shall the shall they be sown, Scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth, When He will also blow on them, And they will wither, And the whirlwind will take them away like stubble.
